Tutorial 5

In this tutorial we are experimenting with cinemachine and post-processing.

Cinemachine is a built in package of unity and allows for cinematic camera action and movement, its good for things like drawing the players attention to things by aiming the camera at it while keeping the player character in frame, or for simple things like easing to give the player a nicer and less jarring gameplay experience. Though it must be properly configured and as you can see in this video it doesnt work too great with my project here (heh).

Post processing on the other hand allows us to add cool special effects to the game view like bloom, vignette, color correction, chromatic abberation and all of the other AAA buzz words! This stuff is super easy, you just drag a couple things onto the camera and set the values of the effects. One possible feature is you can set different post processing effects for different areas, allowing the developer to give different "looks and feels" or "moods" to certain areas, i did this on the platform that the ramp leads down to, you can see the defined area in the editor before the game starts, its the big green block, it's pretty funky huh?
